Sleep Apnea Check
Why Should You Consider a Sleep Apnea Check?
Sleep apnea can affect your breathing repeatedly throughout the night, often without you knowing it. If you snore loudly, wake up choking or gasping, feel tired despite getting enough sleep, wake with headaches or a dry mouth, or experience poor concentration during the day, it may be worth checking your sleep breathing. A Home Sleep Apnea Check provides a convenient way to assess your breathing and oxygen levels overnight in the comfort of your own home. Identifying possible sleep apnea early can help you seek appropriate medical evaluation and treatment, supporting better sleep, daytime alertness and overall health.
The Home Sleep Apnea Check is a screening test and does not replace a medical diagnosis.
What Does an Over-Night Sleep Apnea Check Measure?
The is a FDA-Cleared compact home sleep testing device that records important information about your breathing and cardiovascular activity while you sleep. It monitors five key parameters, giving you insight information to assess for signs of sleep-disordered breathing.
-
Respiratory effort: The belt that wraps around your chest tracks how difficult it is for you to breathe by measuring how much your chest moves while sleeping.
-
Respiratory flow: Your air pressure ratings can help your physician track gaps between breaths. The nasal cannula provides details on each breath’s air pressure.
- Snoring: The nasal cannula also detects snoring, one of OSA’s most common symptoms
-
Blood oxygen saturation: Repeated apneas and hypopneas can cause desaturation in your blood oxygen level. The pulse oximeter measures spO2 levels through the night.
-
Pulse Rate: Monitoring of pulse fluctuation is essential indicator for obstructive sleep apnea.
